Abstract

Welcome to the 3rd issue of the 4th volume of the Journal of Social Computing, a blend of excellence featuring a compelling special section and an array of regular papers. In this issue, we delve into the special section on Assessing Sentience of AI Systems (only part I here; part II will appear in the 4th issue of the 4th volume), curated by Rumman Chowdhury, composed of three papers that attempt to understand Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its (potential) consciousness. Alongside these, we are thrilled to present three regular papers that showcase the breadth and depth of research in our ever-evolving field of social computing.
