The purpose of this article is to discuss: (1) the process of developing movie studio media to improve reading skills in grade 1 elementary school; and (2) the feasibility of animated video media to improve reading skills in grade 1 SD. The research used is research on the development of the Thiagarajan et al model or the 4D model. The research subjects consisted of three validator who was an expert on media and Indonesian material. The object of research is animated video-based media using \"Movie Studio\" to improve reading skills on the material What Sounds?. The research instruments used were: validator questionnaire sheets and data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical formulas for the percentage of mean scores. The results showed that the development product was in the form of animated video media on the material Sounds of What? with reading skills. Media \"Movie Studio\" on material Sounds What? developed proved to be very feasible for use by grade 1 students for SD.
