The CRISPR/Cas9 technology has become the most widely used gene editing technique. Ornamental traits determine the aesthetic value of plants, and improving ornamental traits has become a research hotspot. The gene editing technology mediated by the CRISPR/Cas9 system has been widely applied in crop genetics and breeding, and there are increasing reports of its application in flowers. Abstract
Gene editing allows for precise editing and modification of specific target genes within an organism’s genome. The CRISPR/Cas9 technology has become the most widely used gene editing technique. Ornamental traits determine the aesthetic value of plants, and improving ornamental traits has become a research hotspot. The gene editing technology mediated by the CRISPR/Cas9 system has been widely applied in crop genetics and breeding, and there are increasing reports of its application in flowers.
