Abstract
Objectives: Targeting patients with cervical abrasion, we aimed to improve the habit of brushing and reduce the recurrence of cervical abrasion by repeatedly and periodically teaching the subject's brushing habit and correct brushing method.
Methods: From August 31, 2022 to May 31, 2023, for patients who visited a dental clinic due to cervical abrasion, repeated brushing education was conducted for 12 weeks after a questionnaire survey and dental plaque test.
Results: Compared to before the brushing method training, the time of brushing increased, and the change in the modified O'Leary Index increased from an average of 54.52 points to 76.70 points.
Conclusions: As a dental hygienist's job, it is necessary to recognize the importance of continuous brushing method education and make efforts to provide education for behavioral change rather than simply conveying knowledge about brushing methods.
