Abstract

The article deals with the actual problems of the communicative competence of law enforcement officers, in particular, the negative consequences for society caused by the lack of professionalism of law enforcement officers in the communicative sphere. The paradigm of the study is the assertion that the most important aspect of the professional activity of employees of the internal affairs bodies is to work with people, but unlike other professions, the specifics of building interpersonal relationships with people in internal affairs employees are determined by special working conditions, unusual circumstances, as well as occasions and situations dissimilar to each other. In this regard, there is a need to improve the communicative competence of employees of law enforcement agencies. From the standpoint of an integrative approach, an analysis was made of the phenomenon of the communicative competence of law enforcement officers; the existing gaps in this area and the necessary “points” for applying efforts to improve the situation were identified.
