The application of infrared spectroscopy for monitoring fuel content in synthetic lubricating oils used in aviation engines

Abstract

The research paper presents the conducted tests for determination of fuel content in a synthetic lubricating oil used in aviation engines. The authors applied infrared spectroscopy for quantitative determination of Jet A-1 aviation fuel content in ester-based synthetic oil used in the engines of Polish Armed Forces aircraft. The obtained results were compared with the results of tests conducted using the technique that employs acoustic surface wave measurement.
