The features of the planning of the estate complex associated with the natural features of the territory and the personality of the owner, are shown. Shayovo played an important role in the life of Pavel Katenin. Here he served a link in the 1820s, doing housekeeping and literary activities. The core of the estate occupied the highest part of the relief and included a large one-story wooden house, an open parterre and an access spruce alley. Near the manor’s house there was an orchard and a kitchen garden. The estate was one of the main sources of income, so a significant part was occupied by the service and economic zone. After the death of Pavel Katenin’s estate was inherited by his nephews, and later it was sold to V.V. Radziszewski, who became the last owner. In the mid-20th century, the territory of Shayovo fell into disrepair. All manor buildings and most of the planning elements were lost. To preserve the memory of the life and work of Pavel Katenin currently requires the arrangement of the territory of the former estate with the installation of information stands and the development of a tourist excursion route.","PeriodicalId":498361,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Kostromskogo gosudarstvennogo universiteta imeni N.A.
