PECULIARITIES OF THE IT INDUSTRY IN UKRAINE: CURRENT STATE AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS

Abstract

The article examines in detail the state of the information technology industry in Ukraine over the past few years in the context of the global crisis against the background of the pandemic and war. The rapid dynamic development of the studied industry is proven, the main economic indicators and internationalrankings of Ukraine in the modern IT segment are analyzed. The peculiarities, level and state of development of the information technology industry of Ukraine against the background of other countries - players of the IT market are analyzed. The main problems of the industry, trends and developmentforecasts for the coming years are considered. It has been established that the development of the IT sphere is inseparable from the informatization of society, investments in innovation, interest and support of the state in the development of this sphere. It has been proven that the IT industry is one of the least affected by the war, and the workers were able to quickly adapt to the new realities. But at the same time, the market for most IT companies has changed significantly. In recent years, technology companies have hired a record number of specialists, beginners in particular. Now, despite the fact that the IT business has significantly stabilized since the beginning of the war, there are signs of an economic recession and a reduction in investments in the IT sector. The main obstacles on the part of the state on the way to the modernization of the Ukrainian IT sphere and its integration into the European information space are analyzed, and ways to eliminate them are proposed. The conclusions of experts regarding the further development of the field on the international and national market are analyzed. The role of the IT market as an important player in the economy of Ukraine is considered. The article examines the strengths and weaknesses of “Diia City”. Critical points that require additional explanation and clarification are highlighted. An assessment of the problems is given and options for their solution are offered. It has been established that the victory of Ukraine, economic and tax stability, the absenceof new regulatory barriers, an increase in investments, the development of IT education and human resources, the active promotion of Ukraine's brand on the international arena, etc., are necessary for the stable operation and growth of the IT industry.
