Abstract
The introduction of economic sanctions against Russia in 2022 is an unprec-edented pressure on the socio-economic system of state and its regions. The question of how badly the Russian economy has suffered and what are the prospects for its recovery and fur-ther growth becomes relevant. The analysis of scientific literature reveals moderately opti-mistic trends in assessing the ongoing geo-economic transformations. The results of the study of the impact of sanctions on Russian regions, carried out using the principal components method, showed an equal distribution of the damage from the sanctions shock on the subjects of the Russian Federation.
