DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES TECHNOLOGIES IN RUSSIA (USING THE EXAMPLE OF THE NORTHERN REGIONS)

Abstract

The study is dedicated to assessing the state of the information and com-munication technology sector in Russia as a whole and in the regions, as well as analyzing its significance for economic development. Low employment in the information and communi-cation technology industry in Russia has been revealed, while employment is even lower in the northern regions. A method for calculating the integral ICT index for each subject of the Russian Federation is proposed. Using multivariate cluster analysis, the state of information and communication technologies in the northern regions of Russia is assessed.
