Can a Science Museum Dream? Notes on a museum artifact

Abstract

ABSTRACT Considering that museums are spaces of constant choice between what and how to display the collection, this paper presents the history of the construction of a museum artifact at the Museum of Biodiversity of the Cerrado, which stresses the relationship between culture and nature in a science museum. Among some of the results, it discusses and suggests the concept of immersion artifact as a specificity among museum artifacts, seeking its potentialities and limitations in representations and expository narratives.
