Límites en el sistema familiar y el consumo de sustancias en adolescentes; interacciones con el rendimiento académico

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación científica se enfoca en el análisis de los tipos de límites existentes en el sistema familiar, en el consumo de sustancias y en sus posibles efectos en el rendimiento académico en un grupo de adolescentes entre 15 a 18 años de edad Para ello, se estableció un diseño de tipo descriptivo, buscando dar respuesta a la pregunta de investigación: ¿Los límites existentes en el sistema familiar de adolescentes y el consumo de sustancias afectan al rendimiento académico? Así como también a los objetivos planteados, siguiendo los fundamentos de la teoría sistémica estructural. La población elegida fue de tipo homogénea, ya que se encuentra en una etapa específica del desarrollo. Lo que respecta al trabajo de campo y la recolección de datos, se utilizaron guías de entrevistas semi-estructuradas y la observación como técnica, enfocadas tanto al sistema familiar, al consumo de sustancias y al historial académica actual para obtener datos generales y específicos del grupo, siendo finalmente aplicadas a 4 adolescentes. Los resultados obtenidos indican que los sistemas y subsistemas familiares de los adolescentes con problemas de abuso y dependencia se rigen por límites difusos y rígidos, manteniendo el consumo de sustancias y afectando indirectamente al rendimiento académico del adolescente. Limits in the family system and substance use in adolescents; interactions with academic performance ABSTRACT The present scientific research work focuses on the analysis of the types of limits existing in the family system, substance use and its possible effects on academic performance in a group of adolescents between 15 and 18 years of age a descriptive design was established, seeking to answer the research question: Do the existing limits in the family system of adolescents and substance use affect academic performance? As well as the objectives proposed, following the foundations of structural systemic theory. The population chosen was homogeneous, as it is at a specific stage of development. With regard to fieldwork and data collection, semi-structured interview guides and observation as a technique were used, focusing both on the family system, substance use and current academic history to obtain general and group-specific data, finally being applied to 4 adolescents. The results obtained indicate that the family systems and subsystems of adolescents with problems of abuse and dependence are governed by diffuse and rigid limits, maintaining the consumption of substances and indirectly affecting the adolescent’s academic performance.
