Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the improvement of students’ group communication skills. A series of experiments were conducted with students who were novices in group discussions. Four students who had never met each other before participated in a 15-minute networked group discussion experiment 10 times over a 3-month period. In the initial period, when participants only self-evaluated themselves after participating in discussions. After the mid-term, when all participants had an opportunity to exchange opinions (mutual evaluation), effects such as an increase in the length of utterances and a decrease in the length of silence, which were treated as common issues within the group, were observed. We reported the above detailed process as a case study.
