Abstract
In the eastern Karimunjawa Islands, Genting Island was one of the populated islands. The primary activity for Genting Island residents was shipping, whether it is for personal transit, moving goods, or as a means of support. To support the urgency of these maritime activities, water depth mapping was required, particularly in shallow waters. In order to facilitate maritime activity, this project examine and map Genting Island's shallow water. The data used includes tidal data for the period June 12-July 10, 2022, and field survey data for the period June 26–28, 2022. A fishfinder instrument was used to conduct the method of acquiring field depth data. While implementing the Admiralty method for tidal data processing and tidal reduction correction for field depth data processing. Genting Island's shallow water are between 0 and -20 meters deep, with Z0=0,54 meter, HHWL=2,27 meter, MSL=1,77 meter dan LLWL 1,23 meter respectively. The topography of Genting Island's shallow water to the west was softer than those to the east. Small fishing boats can dock on Genting Island's east coast without being concerned about the potential of running aground due to the terrain, which was often steep.

The Journal of Marine Research publishes peer-reviewed research articles covering a broad array of topics in physical, biological and chemical oceanography. Articles that deal with processes, as well as those that report significant observations, are welcome. In the area of biology, studies involving coupling between ecological and physical processes are preferred over those that report systematics. Authors benefit from thorough reviews of their manuscripts, where an attempt is made to maximize clarity. The time between submission and publication is kept to a minimum; there is no page charge.
