ACTIVITIES OF THE FOUNDATION FOR ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL RESEARCH OF TURKEY SETA

Abstract

The article discusses one of the most successful and influential analytical centers in Turkey – the SETA Foundation for Economic and Social Research of Turkey. It shows the main areas of activity of the “thought factory”, its expert potential, publishing opportunities. Much attention is paid to the leadership of SETA, which is the main producer of analytical products and one of the main conductors of state policy at the level of expert and analytical activity. Combining work in the Foundation with teaching at the leading universities of the country, as well as active participation in the socio-political life of the state through participation in the publication work of major publications (Sabah, Sabah Daily, etc.), contributes to the promotion of SETA’s point of view on key issues of the internal and foreign policy agenda to a wide range of the population of the republic. Participation in socio-political debates at the level of major republican and international venues and coverage of such events by leading Turkish media also contributes to increasing the popularity of SETA and strengthening its image as a powerful analytical center not only of national, but also of regional and global significance. At the same time, the success of SETA itself as an independent organization deserves a separate study.
