Abstract

Conflicting situations between what one wants to acquire and the limit imposed by financial resources require financial planning. The current study presents an excerpt of a Master's research in Mathematics Education, based on qualitative approach, whose goal was to disclose contributions from Problem Solving, according to the Problem Solving methodology, to the Financial Education of a group of worker-students enrolled in the 1st year of a public night-shift High School. Observation, field journal, documentary records of assignments involving family planning and questionnaires were used for data collection purposes.
