The study aims to develop a set of methods for assessing the investment project of a gas producing enterprise in the context of its sustainable devel-opment in the industry. The authors define the basic criteria and principles for selecting estimate indicators based on data quality and accessibility. The most common data collection methods, such as the CRAAP (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose) test, Kent method, and ma-trix method, are described. The data gathering approach is substantiated using the analytic hierarchy process, and three groups of estimate indicators are selected to comprehensively analyze the invest-ment project, taking into account the concept of sustainable development of the enterprise in the industry. The groups aforementioned include assessments of engineering and economic, social, and environmental aspects of effectiveness. The engineering performance when implementing the invest-ment project demonstrates the innovative effectiveness, inter alia, driven by digital technology. The method proposed is tested on the example of an investment project for the design and development of a gas-condensate field. As a result of the study, the authors have determined an increase in the substantiation of implementing the investment project.
