DENTAL TOURISM POTENTIAL FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF DENTISTS: THE CASE OF ANTALYA PROVINCE

Abstract

Dental tourism is one of the fastest-growing and developing sub-branches of medicaltourism. However, academic research in this field is quite limited. Moreover, the verylimited studies in Tï¿½rkiye, where the research was conducted, mainly focus on themotivations and destination preferences of dental tourists. This study is a survey-basedstudy conducted with dentists. The cross-sectional study population includes 310 dentistsat private health institutions in Antalya province, and the data were collected face-to-facebetween 2022-2023. According to the results obtained in the study, it was determined thatdental tourists mostly have implanted veneers, crowns, dental bridges and teeth whiteningprocedures. The study also determined that the dental tourism knowledge of dentists is ata reasonable level.

Interciencia publishes in Spanish, Portuguese and English research and review articles, communications and essays, all of which are subjected to peer review. Additionally, it includes non-refereed sections such as Editorial, Letters to the Editor, Open Town Hall, Book Reviews and Upcoming Events. All the material submitted to the journal for publication and accepted by the Editorial Committee in view of its quality and pertinence is subjected to review by peer specialists in the corresponding fields of knowledge.
