Abstract

This is a tribute to Lay Canon Dr Agnes Abuom, who served as Africa president of the World Council of Churches (WCC) from 1998 to 2006 and as moderator of the WCC central committee from 2013 to 2022. Dr Abuom died in Nairobi on 31 May 2023, nine months after moderating the WCC's 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2022.
