Was, wenn nicht immer alles so eindeutig ist, wie wir denken? Erfahrungen LSBT*-Jugendlicher in der Schule und das Konzept der Ambiguitätstoleranz

Leseprobe ----- Zusammenfassung Dieser Text nahert sich den Themen Vorurteile, Stereotype und Diskriminierung aus verschiedenen Perspektiven: Der theoretische Einstieg aus soziologischer Perspektive thematisiert den Sozialisationsprozess innerhalb der binaren Geschlechter- und Begehrensordnung und referiert feministische und queere Kritiken. Daran schliest sich eine psychologische Perspektive an, die den heuristischen Wert des Konzeptes von Ambiguitatstoleranz im individuellen Umgang mit nicht erwartungskonformen Situationen auslotet. Schlieslich wird mit einer empirischen Perspektive die Situation lsbt* Jugendlicher mit Hilfe von O-Tonen aus Fokusgruppen verdeutlicht, wobei auf drei haufige Eindeutigkeitsannahmen Bezug genommen wird. Der abschliesende Ausblick zeigt, wie nur im interdisziplinaren Zusammenwirken aller Perspektiven Vielfalt in Zukunft besser integriert werden kann. Experiences of lgbt* youth at school and the concept of ambiguity tolerance Abstract This article discusses prejudices, stereotypes and discrimination from different perspectives: the theoretical introduction from a sociological perspective frames the socialisational practices of actors within the binary order of gender and desire and highlights selected feminist and queer criticisms. Subsequently, a psychological perspective is applied that proposes the heuristic value of the concept of ambiguity tolerance when analyzing the individual handling of ambiguous situations. Finally, the article employs an empirical perspective that reflects the situation of lgbt* adolescents and young adults. By drawing on data from focus group discussions three common assumptions of unambiguousness were identified. In a concluding outlook the article argues for an interdisciplinary approach of all angles to improve the integration of diversity in the future.
