Abstract

This paper presents several solutions for the coverage of Hair Pin welding in flat wire electrical motors. It is discussed what to keep in mind when selecting a material to insulate the uncovered hair pins as well as how to choose the application technique. The techniques covered in this paper are Dip&Bake, Trickling, Encapsulation, Hot Dip and Powder Coating. Examples of materials and process parameters will be described as well as evaluation results on a prototype Hair Pin stator.
