Abstract

Functionally graded piezothermoelastic material (FGPM) is a new piezothermoelastic material. Research work on its mechanical behavior has still been inadequate so far, which leaves room for a further discussion on the three-dimensional piezothermoelastic coupled analysis of FGPM annular plates. Suppose that all the electric, thermal and mechanical material properties have the same exponential distribution, a model of piezothermoelastic coupled FGPM annular plate fixed at two boundaries is obtained from the basic equations of isotropic FGPM 3-D problem. Examples are presented to prove the correctness and show the superiority of this method. The influences of the different functionally graded material properties on the static analysis of the plates are investigated through numerical examples.
