Abstract

Of the books by E l l i o t t and Stutzman and Thiele, he referenced material from them. I f he i s implying t h a t these books a re no t su i tab le as in t roductory t ex ts , then I must take issue with him. These books along with the one by Balanis are minent ly sui table for such courses. The author does, however, state that h i s book is primarily intended as an undergraduate text; whereas, the other texts are senior/graduate level texts . While I f e e l he has succeeded i n meeting h i s ob jec t ive , I do be l i eve t ha t h i s book w i l l f ind very strong competition from the other texts. Indeed, his tatement begs comparisons between his book and the others .
