Abstract
Speaking is the first disciplinary skill of our national study programs of foreign languages in Benin. Though, most of Spanish students don’t succeed in expressing the abilities linked to that competence. Because of that linguistic lack, we choose to diagnose the problem calling into question the curriculum currently in force and the teaching practice on-the-spot. It turns out of our research that the difficulties appear in shape of incapacity to keep up a conversation in Spanish. Those who do it cannot hold the conversation for a long time, because of lack of vocabulary, bad pronunciation and embarrassment. Speaking skill difficulties don’t come from the current curriculum, but from the teaching practice and academic and professional profile. The lack of language laboratories and the non-existence of an efficient and sustainable politics of linguistics immersion also contribute to these speaking difficulties. To all these problems, we try to find ways to settle them.
