Abstract
The usability of smartphones has been changing our living style significantly. Along with great convenience and efficiency, there are new challenges in protecting the data carried in these devices. Thus, nowadays the mobile data security has become a buzz word among every mobile user in real time. The key security feature for protecting data on the mobile device is encryption system. There are several encryption algorithms available to protect the data. In order to enhance the security in our built-in Android encryption system, the mobile device data can be encrypted automatically using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm with fingerprint as the key. If there is an unmatched fingerprint of the user, the data gets encrypted. The decryption can be done only by sensing the fingerprint of authenticated user. AES increases the performance. Fingerprint being used as encryption key make the system more secure by not allowing the hackers to crack the key.
