Abstract
Wi-Fi mesh networking (WMN) has emerged as a promising technology for providing cost-effective ubiquitous broadband coverage. Despite the many advantages that this technology can offer, various questions still remain on its performance. In this paper, we analyze the performance of WMN basic building block, i.e. the multi-hop chain network using the emerging multi-radio system. Quality of service (QoS) performances of two popular multimedia applications; Voice/UDP and Web/TCP with varying client densities, hop counts, etc, are investigated.
