Research on Aging-adapted Renovation Design of Bathroom Space under the Background of Smart-Home

Abstract

In consideration of physical limitations of the elderly and their living habits, this paper analyzed the demands for transforming bathroom space into elderly-oriented one in existing residential buildings under the background of smart-home for the elderly, and pointed out the problems related to home bathroom space environment which needs urgent transformation. Next, it explored the layout and scale problems of bathroom space in residential buildings, and proposed the transformation strategies of convenient, safe and comfortable bathroom space for the elderly.so as to adapt to the social environment of smart-home.
