Herashenko.The textual and linguistic analysis of this publication allowed to make a conclusion that prayerbook was performed according to the translational principles formed by Synodal Commissionheaded by the bishop Parfeniy Levytsky. It was the Commission which during 1905–1911 yearspublished Ukrainian Four Gospels based on the translation of Gospel by P. Morachevsky. Thesetranslation principles formed once by P. Zhutetsky focused translators in their translationprocess on fulfillment of the rules of the target language (Ukrainian) with a quite limited andstylistically caused use of lexical units and forms of the source language (Church Slavic).","PeriodicalId":217176,"journal":{"name":"MESSENGER of Kyiv National Linguistic University.
