Agency Visualized: Connecting Relational Network Modeling and Communication Design

Abstract

This study pilots a mixed-method approach for networked modeling of agency, assessing seismic risk visuals from the websites of key organizations concerned with seismic activity. Preliminary findings indicate the need for visuals that stage more complex networks and avoid tendencies to simplify technical situations in order to create greater opportunities for engagement and danger-reducing action.
