The research was conducted at the Chinese Language Education Program of Universitas Universal. Determination of the sample is done by purposive sampling. The research respondents were 62 students of the class of 2020. The data collection instrument was in the form of a questionnaire. Questionnaire data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. Students' understanding of the basic policy of the right to study outside the study program is in a good category. 87.7% of students can understand the policy of the right to study outside the study program in the good and very good categories. 66% of students already know about the right to study outside the study program, 78% get information from campus socialization. The rest comes from mass media or social media, Kemdikbudristek, and campus friends. Many students still do not understand the number of semesters and credits recognized in learning activities outside the study program.
