To prove the suitability of this new metering solution based on sampled values installations are placed in substations in parallel to conventional metering solutions. Leading substation suppliers presented at CIGRE 2012 a new generation of substations with sampled values for voltage and current instead of conventional instrument transformers. Since 2012 several substations using sampled values as input for all devices were introduced worldwide.
