Abstract
Introduction: Multiple sclerosis is progressive autoimmune disease it affects many areas of brain such as cerebellum or central vestibular pathways, that can produce vestibular dysfunction. Caw Thorne–Cooksey exercise is a vestibular rehabilitation program that tries to achieve vestibular compensation by adaptation, habituation and substitution based on the mechanisms of neuroplasticity. It builds up to a tolerance mechanism and the more diligently and regularly they are carried out, the symptoms will disappear. Aim: The aim of the study is to find effect of Caw Thorne Cooksey exercise in improving balance, gait and mobility in patient with multiple sclerosis. Methodology: Articles are in English, Free open access, full text, last 5-years studies from search engines like PubMed, research gate and google scholar which shows effect of caw Thorne Cooksey exercise in patient with multiple sclerosis. Result: Articles reviewed showed positive effect of caw Thorne Cooksey exercise. Hence it plays an important role in rehabilitation of multiple sclerosis patient because of this exercise is build up tolerance mechanism. Conclusion: It is concluded that Caw Thorne Cooksey exercise plays an important role in rehabilitation of multiple sclerosis patient but there are very few recent evidences supporting it so more researches should be conducted on it.
