Abstract

The thought that average income may be an important influential parameter driving the economic development process is intriguing. Economic development is a multifaceted process driven by multitude of factors. Samuel H Preston, in his classic paper titled “The changing relation between Mortality and Level of Economic Development” published in 1975, boldly researched the association between national average income and life expectancy.
