Abstract

The study aims to identify the stress coping mechanisms adopted by both private and public sector banking employees for downsize the stress. The data collected from 400 bank employees of both private and public sector banking employees of Perambalur District, have been used to identify the stress coping mechanisms adopted by the respondents. The factor analysis has been applied for grouping of the variables. The findings indicate eight coping dimensionsTime management, Physical relaxation, Entertainment, Optimistic Approach, Adequate rest, Temporary Relaxation, Diversion and Decentralization. Further the results indicate that private and public sector banks significantly differ on coping dimensions.
