Abstract

We designed low-cost, wideband, printed inverted-F antennas at 2–3 GHz according to the size and bandwidth constraints of multimedia sensor networks. We used a slotted structure to excite two frequency-adjacent modes; herein we present the performance comparison of three such slotted antennas. A suitable scalar quantity is used for the comparison of overall performance. Antenna performance depends heavily on electrical size, which depends on the size of the ground plane.
