TRADISI NANDUNG SEBAGAI PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER PADA MASYARAKAT RENGAT INDRAGIRI HULU RIAU

Abstract

Nandung tradition in Rengat, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau is a form of local wisdom that requires meaning and function as well as value in character building as capital in local culture. Local knowledge (local knowledge) and local wisdom (local wisdom) in overcoming various problems in the formation of character formation can be extracted from the culture that is passed down from generation to generation. The method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach which aims to describe the Nandung tradition as a character determination in the Rengat community of Indragiri Hulu Riau. The findings of this study indicate that the Nandung tradition is full of values ​​in shaping character because it contains the value of religious education, the value of moral education, the value of social education, the value of cultural education and psychological and religious values. The values ​​of local wisdom in the Nandung tradition are useful in shaping the character of the Rengat Indragiri Hulu community in accordance with Islamic law and Indragiri Hulu Malay culture.
