Abstract
The Computing Curricula 2020 (CC2020) project seeks to develop new pathways for the future of computing education worldwide. At a special plenary session during EduNine 2019, discussions consisted of two parts: a principal keynote address titled, “Project CC2020: Modern Paradigms for Technical Careers” and a special panel discussion and debate titled, “Perspectives on Computing Education in Latin America and the CC2020 Project.” This summary is a post-conference article that précises the keynote address and the panel presentations that occurred during the special plenary session. It also highlights some of the current challenges facing computing education in Latin America as they relate to the CC2020 project. The 150-minute special plenary session encouraged intellectual stimulating discussions and vigorous interactive debates.
