Abstract
In Mexico there are over 6 million people with disabilities, yet there is not enough research about accessibility. People living with one or more disabilities encounter difficulties in their daily life when carrying out activities that may be simple for other people, such as walking or communicating, not to mention using technology that was not intended for them. In this sense, there is a need to understand these users’ needs in order to better design technology. This panel aims to create a space for conversation to understand the experiences of people with physical and perceptual limitations. It is necessary to reflect on the challenges they face as users of technology - sometimes assistive tech -, and how they cope in their daily lives.
