Strategies in developing quick and dirty user's guides

Abstract

The author describes the quick and dirty computer user's guide. He examines how guides differ from manuals and quick reference cards, the problems they solve, their preparation, and their future. A quick and dirty guide focuses on one specific task, succinctly describing what to do. An illustration of a guide being developed for a college report assignment is presented.<>
