Navigating Annotation Chains in Cinematic Narrative

Abstract

We present a film-based interface that has some attractive features for browsing a film in the context of user contributed annotations. Separately, we describe a desired interaction profile that supports opportunistic hypertext browsing through constructed essays built from these annotations. A challenge is in how to integrate the two functions without losing the best qualities of each.
