Abstract

This paper presents the electric field intensity computation method using analogies between the VLF electric field intensity, obtained from experimental data, and field intensity of a mechanical wave. The method was employed in a Finite Element Method software platform for evaluation. Computations were carried out for different types of wave-guiding media and simulated the VLF environment close to the planet Mars. The results show that the method requires the implementation of a specific model of wave attenuation and may be further modified for different types of antenna radiation patterns.
