Abstract

This chapter defines employee training, describes categories of employee training, examines the role of training in onboarding programs, and reviews the benefits of training for individuals and organizations. The chapter also describes how training programs run by organizations meet corporate needs. Training goals can be linked to strategic plans, succession plans, and changes in corporate direction.
