Abstract
The solar based grid connected system has been considered as recent research scenario to reduce the dependency on the nonrenewable sources of energy. The inverter is considered to be one of the key components while developing the PV based system and therefore this work has focused on converter control designing and studying the loading conditions in the line. The improvement in the system performance in feeding the loads has been achieved by designing a converter control system, as a metaheuristic approach in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The inverter performance in the limiting the negative impacts on the load switching points as a total harmonic distortion percentage in current changes has been observed and compared with the conventional controller. The system performance concluded effectiveness of the designed control in reducing the harmonics in the current waveforms at points where the system is subjected to transient offloading conditions which was found to be 0.93%.
