Study on Multimodal Transportation Route Selection based on a Simplified ELECTRE Approach considering Environmental Impacts

Abstract

Along with the concept of sustainable development put forward, green supply chain management takes environmental impacts of supply chain processes into considerations. Since transportation system is playing a significant role in supply chain management, problem of logistics transportation route selection with optimizing transport modes' configuration is studied from point view of multi-criteria decision making in this paper. Firstly, an evaluation criteria system of logistics transportation route in multimodal transport system is constructed from economy, society and environment perspectives and the criteria weights are decided by AHP method. Then, a simplified multiple attribute decision method based on ELECTRE is applied to find the best compromised solution. Finally, a case example is introduced and demonstrated for this method's application.
