Abstract

Temperature is an important indicator of cattle health. Our proposed work deals with automated temperature measurement of cattle with little to almost no human involvement. The user / owner is alerted if an abnormality in the readings is detected. The proposed work also aims to confront the power and cost limitations of the previous automated systems. We overcome the need for power by using RFID technology. We overcome the cost limitations by using a single arduino and single IR temperature sensor instead of using multiple ones for each cattle.
