Abstract

The article presents the experience of practical implementation of an applied board game for the study of pharmaceutical chemistry in the process of professional training at the Ryazan State Medical University. The prerequisites for the emergence of a gaming solution are described, which are primarily associated with changes in thinking, understanding and ability of the modern generation of students to work with various types of information. The characteristic features of the educational game as one of the types of interactive learning are given, and its main advantages are revealed: activation of students' thinking, increasing their overall activity in the classroom, independence; formation of the ability to work in a team, to respect the opinions of others, as well as, tolerance for different points of view. The paper notes an important cognitive advantage of using the game in the educational process, which is to increase the quality and speed of assimilation of the educational content by students. Attention is paid to the possibility of applied games to solve problems that are beyond the scope of gaming activity, the format being very popular in the modern world. The forms of the game implementation within the framework of full-time and distance learning are described, a brief description of the game itself is given, studies of students’ reaction to the game process are given and recommendations on the use of the game in the practice of education are described.
