Its main task aims to replace coal-fired boilers with air source heat pump equipments for heating in winter. The implementation of the project has made significant progress in areas with relatively good fiscal revenues, and is gradually expanding to the whole region. It should be noticed that the effects and benefits of actual operation are yet to be assessed. The team of the speaker has been involved in this project since 2015, conducting related technical research, controller development, product production and sales. The main contents of this speech include: 1. Status of air quality in North China 2. Policy, planning and implementation status of the “Coal to Electricity” Project 3. Low temperature air source heat pump technology and products 4. Brief introduction of National Key Laboratory of Power System in Shenzhen, Tsinghua University 5. University’s role in economic development and the cooperation mechanism between universities and enterprises in China 6.
