Abstract

This paper presents a simple, cost-effective technique of stator winding inter-turn fault detection that is applied to a single-phase induction machine while in operation. The technique emphasizes on sensing the stator current of the induction motor and analyzing the current for detecting the fault. The technique is minimalist and uses less number of sensors and thus cost-effective and can also be easily implemented. The technique is also non-invasive and thus less intricate.
