Mubarak","doi":"10.4018/IJEGR.2018040102","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"OneofthemajorfieldsthathaveappliedICTinthe21stcenturygovernmentise-voting.Around theworld,e-votingistakingplaceandisseenashighlyimportantinmanycountries.However,in manycountries,includingtheKingdomofBahrain,publictrusttowardvotingusingICTtoolsis stillabigchallenge.Thisresearchaimstoinvestigatethefactorsthataffectpublictrusttowardusing e-votingsysteminBahrain.Amodeloftrustandriskwasusedfrompreviousstudiesandseveral hypothesesweretested.Aquestionnairewasemployedand453responsesfromcitizenswerecollected inBahrain.Thefindingsrevealedthattherearesignificantfactorsthatthegovernmentsshouldfocus ontoenhancepublictrustinthecontextofe-voting,whichare:trustine-voting;trustofgovernment; perceivedrisk;dispositiontotrustandintentiontouse.Theresearchstrengthofthisstudyresides initsinsightsonthefactorstobeconsideredbythegovernmenttoovercomethemistrustofusing e-votinginBahrain.Theoriginalityofthisresearchresidesontheapplicationofatrustmodelthat wasappliedinothercountriesinanewcontext.
