Abstract

This work presents a comparison between three classical observation techniques for the estimation of the external load-torque of a low power PMSM, namely an extended Kalman filter, an unscented Kalman filter and an H∞ filter. The aim of this paper is to define how the load-torque estimation behaves as a sensorless control technique is generating the angular position and speed signals of the electrical machine. The obtained results are evaluated in order to determine which filter is the most suitable to be implemented on an embedded system.
